The selection round conditions: Performance duration – 1:30 min, after that the music will be muted (the same musical piece may be used both for the selection round and for the final). The marks will be announced straight after the performance. Those who were selected to the final will be announced after each nomination. Besides a 1:30 min. performance, professionals will have to do improvisation. During improvisation, all the contestants will be on stage together. They will be called up in groups of three by the order of their registration numbers. The improvisation will last around 30 seconds. After that, the marks will be announced.5 participants will be passed on to the final after the selection round. Those who did not pass to the final would have a free entrance to the contest. 5 participants from each nomination will be passed on to the final.

The contestants will be divided into two categories: amateurs and professionals.

The categories are further subdivided into the following styles:

AMATEUR CATEGORY NOMINATIONS

Children solo;
Oriental youth solo;
Oriental adult solo, up to 38 years;
Oriental adult solo, from 39 years and up;
Folk groups.

PROFESSIONAL CATEGORY NOMINATION
Professional solo.

Requirements:
3-year work experience. Only Raks-sharki style. Participation in other nominations is not allowed. Performance duration – not longer than 5:30 min (for the final). Different compositions and costumes (the same composition and the costume for the selection round and the final not allowed).

CONTESTANTS’ AGE

Children nomination – from 8 till 14 years.
Youth nomination – from 15 till 20 years.
Adult nomination – from 21 till 38 years.
Adult nomination – from 39 and up.
Professional nomination – from 21 and up.
EXCEPTION: those who turn 8, 15 or 21 before July 30 may choose in which nomination to compete.

PARTICIPATION FEE

Children solo – 45 Lt.
Youth solo – 55 Lt.
Adult solo – 60 Lt.
Professional solo – 70 Lt.
Folk groups – 15 Lt/person.
The fee is separate for each nomination.

EVALUATION CRITERIA

1.Technique.
2.Choreography.
3.Style correspondence to the music.
4.Artistry.
5.Image created on stage, individuality, costume, make-up.

COMPULSORY CONDITIONS

1.Minimum 4, maximum 15 dancers may participate in the group nomination.

2.Performance duration not longer than 4 min. (in the final).

3.Styles allowed in the oriental nomination: classical, oriental, pop oriental, modern oriental, classical baladi (no folk and pop).

4.In the children solo nomination all styles allowed.

5.The composition may not be the drum solo only, 1/3 of the drums may be used in the dance.

6.No acrobatic elements are allowed.

7.The costume for the oriental nomination should be of two pieces.

8.The scarf may be used for the entrance.

9.For the folk nomination, all folk styles are acceptable, age unlimited.

10.The CD has to contain only one piece (the one used for your dance). The CD with the record has to be of a good quality. Have two copies of the CD. MP3 format is not acceptable. To avoid problems, it is advised to make a record using NERO program.

ONLY THE FOLLOWING NOMINATIONS PARTICIPATE IN THE SELECTION ROUND:

Youth solo; adult solo till 38 years; professional solo.

The following nominations do not participate in the selection round:

Children solo;

Adult solo from 39 years and up;

Folk groups.

The performance duration in those nominations must not be longer than 4 min., shorter time is allowed.

SELECTION ROUND ORDER:

Oriental youth solo. Announcement of those who passed to the final.

Oriental adult solo till 38 years. Announcement of those who passed to the final.

Professional solo. Announcement of those who passed to the final.

FINAL ORDER:

Children solo; youth solo; adult solo from 39 years and up. Commercial break.

Awards: children solo, adult solo, adult solo from 39 years and up.

Folk groups, adult solo till 38 years.

Awards: folk groups, adult solo till 38 years. Commercial break.

Professional solo.

Awards: adults solo; professional solo.
